F260 Day 144: Nehemiah 11

Nehemiah 11

With the temple rebuilt and the city walls restored, the city of Jerusalem needed to be populated. To make this happen, the leaders made their home in Jerusalem, along with a tenth of the people who returned from exile. The other nine-tenths remained in their own towns and villages. This was a sacrifice by many for both the worship of God and for the benefit of their neighbor, because it meant giving up your family’s land and your home to relocate.

There are times in our lives when God relocates us for his purposes. We often move for jobs, family, and other reasons. But, sometimes God moves you somewhere specifically for the purpose of accomplishing his purposes. Doing this requires sacrifice and leaving familiarity behind. It is not always an easy decision, but walking in obedience to God’s commands and call is a reward unto itself.

Has God ever called you to relocate for his purposes?
