1 Corinthians 5-6

Paul continues to address the issues in this church. Now his attention turns to some egregious sexual immorality that the church is tolerating. He calls them out for not dealing with the issue, and the fact that they were boasting in it. Paul also calls outs their inability to resolve disputes with one another. He reminds them of their status in Christ and what that calls them to.

Sinful people will not inherit the kingdom of God, Paul makes this clear. For believers, it’s also clear that that used to be us. But, we were bought with a price, which is Christ’s blood. As a result, we are obligated to live different than the world. Everything we do should glorify God and exemplify his character. We do this because we are his temple and we share his spirit.
