Galatians 4-6
In the second half of his letter to the Galatians, Paul breaks down why he does not want them to believe that circumcision will bring anything to their salvation. He shows them that it is useless to follow one part of the law and ignore the rest. Instead, he shows how we have been given freedom in Christ. It is this freedom that allows us to walk in faith and in step with the Holy Spirit, and equips us to love one another.
For Christians, there is a constant battle between the desires of the Spirit and the desires of our flesh. Paul’s teachings show that the more we remain in tune with the Spirit of God, the easier it becomes to walk in step with him and not carry out the sinful desires of our flesh. With that in mind, we need to be mindful of what we partake in. Are our actions leading us closer to God’s desires or our flesh’s desires? That is the question we must ask ourselves each day.
