1 Corinthians 1-2
After his time in Corinth, Paul writes a letter to those believers. He is concerned with divisions in the church, based on who brought them to the knowledge of Christ. Paul warns that it is foolish and only their affiliation with Christ matters. From there, he talks about how the gospel is foolishness to those who do not accept it. But, for those who understand it, it is God’s power at work for our salvation. And through salvation, we are given God’s Spirit, which allows us to know him deeper.
Unfortunately, not everyone in this world will come to know Christ as savior. So, when we preach and share the gospel with them, God tells us they will find it foolish. But, we cannot let that distract us. We know it is God’s truth and it has power. We know it has transformed our lives. God knows what he is doing, and we just have to trust him and the seemingly foolish means he uses to accomplish our salvation.
Are you trusting in the foolishness of the cross?
