1 Corinthians 15-16
As Paul closes his letter, he stresses the importance of Jesus’ resurrection. The resurrection is essential to our faith and without it we are still in our sins. When Paul wrote his letter, there were still many alive who had witnessed the resurrected Lord with their own eyes. And because the resurrection is true, there is great hope for believers that comes with it.
While making his argument, Paul makes an excellent point: Christianity is worthless without the resurrection. Without Christ’s resurrection our sins are not forgiven and we are still in need of being made right with God. And without Christ we might as well live however we want. But, that is not the case, so that must inform how we live. We live unto Christ, which means putting an end to our sin.
