Exodus 6-7
In today’s reading God responds to Moses’ complaints. Instead of the “I told you so” that we expect, God takes a strong but gentle approach. God reminds Moses that he is the God who made a covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Moses’ ancestors. Yet, these men only knew God as God Almighty. But, God told Moses his name. Because of this, God will keep his promise to: 1) bring them to the Promised Land, 2) rescue them, 3) redeem them, 4) call them as his own, and 5) be their God. After further convincing, Moses is back on board with God’s plan, which means going back to Pharaoh and sending the first of ten plagues.
How do you remind yourself of God’s promises?
