F260 Day 51: Numbers 20; 27:12-23

Numbers 20; 27:12-23

Romans 3:23 tell us that we all fall short of God’s glory. Today’s passage is proof of this. It’s nearly time for Israel to enter the Promised Land after their forty years of wandering, but nothing has changed. This new generation is still complaining and living with the same mindset as their parents. Up to this point Moses had been the picture of a godly leader, but even he reaches his breaking point. As the people complain about water, God tells Moses to speak to the rock. In frustration, Moses strikes the rock twice, instead of speaking to it. Moses let his frustration & lack of patience lead him to sin. This action disqualified him from entering the Promised Land, just like the rest of Israel.

God is holy and he takes sin seriously. This is something we need to keep in mind at all times. But, we can also be thankful. God sent his son, Jesus, to lead us on our own exodus journey out of sin & death, bringing us into his glorious kingdom.

Do you let frustration and a lack of patience cause you to sin?
