Romans 13-14
Paul continues teaching the Roman church how to live a life of worship. He does this by placing an emphasis on living and loving well. First, it means submitting to the government God has placed over you by obeying its laws and paying its taxes. From there, he explores various ways we can walk in love toward one another in the church. The overarching emphasis is laying aside our preferences to defer to our brother or sister.
If we want to know how well we are keeping God’s commands, we need look no further than how well we love those around us. When we love our neighbor we are walking in obedience to God’s commands. So, we should constantly check how well we love God and how we treat those around us. If we are doing those well, then we can count it as a win.
Are you loving your neighbor as an act of worship?
