1 Timothy 4-6
In the final chapters, Paul gives lots of instruction for Timothy. Some is directly for him, while the rest is for the church as a whole. Paul warns Timothy against false teachings and to shut them down quickly. Likewise, Timothy needs to set the example for the church and keep his focus on preaching. The church is instructed on supporting one another, especially widows, while also being warned against greed.
The best testimony we have is the life we live. For this reason, we must pay close attention to how we live and what we teach others. Both should be in line with one another. This means we need to do the things we teach, knowing that it will lead to our own salvation by keeping the faith, but also lead others to salvation. That is the life of a disciple and what we are all called to.
Does how you live line up with what you teach?
