F260 Day 192: Acts 12

Acts 12

Persecution once again broke out against this church, this time by the hand of King Herod. Unfortunately, this time he killed one of the apostles, James, the brother of John. Along with this, Peter was jailed and was to be executed. An angel rescued him and removed him from harm’s way.

God’s word will accomplish its purpose. Even in the face of opposition and persecution, it will spread and the gospel will reach those it was intended to reach. This should give us great comfort in the power of the God we serve and the might of his sovereign hand. Nothing in this world can stop him. So, we can go in boldness, knowing that even if we face opposition, the gospel will do its work.

Do you trust that God’s word will accomplish its purpose?
